According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, 45% of fatal crashes were the result of drivers of passenger vehicles engaging in at least one of the following risky behaviors: speeding, alcohol impairment, or not wearing a seat belt.
Throughout the month of March, the Baker County Sheriff’s Office, in partnership with Oregon Impact, will be conducting additional saturation patrols to keep local roadways safe. The goal is to save lives. Please join them in reminding all drivers to be alert, watch for speed limit signs, and obey those signs, especially in school zones, in residential neighborhoods, and on secondary roads.
