On February 21, 2022, Baker City Firefighters responded to a structural fire on walnut street just after 8 pm. Crews arrived to find a single wide manufactured home with significant fire from the majority of the structure.
Crews knocked down the main body of the fire in 16 minutes and it was called completely out at 930 pm. Cause is being listed as undetermined due to damage and pre-existing condition. Baker City Fire Dept was assisted by Baker Rural Fire District.
There were no reports of any injuries to firefighters or the public. Fire Operations were assisted by city and county law enforcement, OTEC, and Cascade Natural Gas.
