Cook Memorial Library will have a Summer Reading Kickoff from 3 – 5 p.m. There will be crafts, snacks, giveaways, games and more!

The Mountain Works Bicycles will have a Women’s Mera Ride from 5:30 – 8 p.m. at the MERA Owsley Trailhead.

Art Center East is having a Creative Writing: From Image to Story class starting at 6 p.m.


Wednesday, June 8

Art Center East will have a Knitting Fundamentals: Knitting, Purling, and Panicking event from 5:15 – 7:15 p.m.

Art Center East will have a Healing from Within: An Introduction to Tinctures and Olls from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m.

The Mountain Works Bicycles will have a Group Ride from 5:30 – 8 p.m. at the MERA Owsley Trailhead.


Thursday, June 9

Art Center East is having a Worth a Thousand Words: Creating a Story from Imagery event starting at 10 a.m.

Cook Memorial Library will have a Teen Zen Led by Kitia Chambers from 3 – 4:30 p.m. This 5 session program gives teens creative and fun ways to de-stress. Make Zen Gardens, Mindless Jars, Pocket Affirmations, Slime to Calm, and Crystal Magic! Free, open to ages 12 to 18, and held in the library’s Community Room. No registration is needed. Teens are encouraged to participate in all sessions, but it isn’t required.


Friday, June 10

Claudson’s Sew and Soak is having a Sweet Land of Liberty Pillow-Making event from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. at 1401 Adams Ave.

The Eastern Oregon Livestock Show will be from 2 – 9 p.m.

Cook Memorial Library will have their Kid Craft Fridays from 3 – 4 p.m. There will be a free activity for all kids ages 7-10. Supplies and guided instruction provided. No registration is needed, however, all children must be accompanied by an adult.

Side A-lley Concerts presents Jobe Woosley & Co. at Side A Brewing starting at 7:30 p.m. Oregon-born Folk Americana artist Jobe Woosley has been writing since 2010. Teaming up with musicians over the years to found the company (Co.), and drawing inspiration from late 60’s folk singers, Jobe Woosley & Co. have found a sound they can call their own.


Saturday, June 11

La Grande Farmers’ Market will be from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m in the Downtown La Grande Max Square on the Corner of 4th and Adams

Claudson’s Sew and Soak is having a Sweet Land of Liberty Pillow-Making event from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. at 1401 Adams Ave.

La Grande High School will be hosting a Fun Run and 5l for Kat Smith starting at 3 p.m.
