La Grande, Ore. – (Release from Eastern Oregon University Athletics) The Eastern Oregon University Mountaineers capped off a 2-0 weekend with a dominant win over Evergreen State College. Adam Orr etched his name in the record books for the second-best shooting performance from beyond the arc in school history knocking down nine three balls to lead Eastern to a 118-68 victory over the Geoducks. Evergreen stayed in it thanks to a spark off the bench in Deondre Russ who scored 11 points in 12 minutes. Tyler Williford also helped shoulder the load with 10. At the half, the Mounties lead 52-39.
After the break, Adam Orr took over putting up 22 points on his way to a team and personal season-high 31. The grad transfer seemingly couldn’t miss going 8-11 in the second half and 6-9 from three. Starting at the 16:24 mark in the second half Orr went on a 9-3 run by himself connecting from deep on three straight possessions. He continued to pour it on through the second half and ended his season-high night with a transition three to give the Mounties their biggest lead of the night. His final bucket put Eastern up 54 with a minute and twenty seconds to go. EOU closed it out to take the 118-68 victory, their largest margin of victory of the year.
