LA GRANDE – On August 13, 2022, at approximately 5:30 a.m., a passerby walking on 16th Street in La Grande observed a male subject lying on the side of the road on the 400 block of 16th Street and immediately contacted 911.

La Grande Police Department officers immediately responded and determined the male was deceased. La Grande Police investigators started a comprehensive investigation with the assistance of the Oregon State Police, the Union County Sheriff’s Office, and the Union County District Attorney. The La Grande Police Department also received logistical support from the Union County Search & Rescue and the La Grande Fire Department.

During the investigation, investigators identified the deceased male as Maison Andrew (24) of La Grande. Residents in the area were interviewed as well as others who came forward with information.
