(La Grande) — The La Grande School District is looking forward to welcoming new
kindergartners in fall 2022!
If your child will be five years old before September 1, 2022, parents can register them at Kindergarten Round-Up. This event is an opportunity for your child to meet the kindergarten teachers and register. Kindergarten Round-Up is on Monday, April 25th from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm in the gym at 1305 N. Willow Street.
Kindergarten is an important foundation for the start of a student’s school career. Justinn Droke, Kindergarten Teacher at Island City Elementary, said throughout the year, her students enjoy math games, drawing, painting, hatching live chicks, investigating the metamorphosis of caterpillars and more. “We have so much fun! And we help them have the necessary foundation for academic success.”
When they attend Kindergarten Round-Up, parents are asked to bring a copy of the student’s birth certificate, a copy of his/her immunization records and proof of residency. For more information, please contact one of the following secretaries at the district’s elementary schools:
