La Grande – Heavy snowfall has caused major complications throughout the city resulting in power outages and damages. The La Grande Public Works Department, The La Grande Police Department, and the La Grande Fire Department are all reporting downed powerlines and fallen tree branches at multiple locations throughout La Grande.
These city agencies, and citizens, have been cooperating in efforts to fix downed lines and to clear tree branches obstructing the road. According to LGPD, crews are out now working to clear the roadways focusing on arterial streets first. We are asking that you use caution as you move throughout town today and if possible avoid these roadways.
Use caution when traveling and stay clear of large trees as they are reported to be hazardous at this time.
