ODFW Confirms New Livestock Depredations in Union, Baker County for January

Union County, Baker County – Oregon Fish and Wildlife have confirmed three new livestock depredations attributed to wolves in the area in the month of January.


On January 27, 2023, in Baker County. Beagle Creek on private land. one dead calf, and 1 injured calf (separate events).

On January 23, 2023, in Union County. Palmer Junction, private land. one dead livestock, and protection dog. Attributed to the Balloon Tree pack.

On January 10, 2023, in Union County. High Valley, private land. one dead calf. Attributed to new pack in Cathrine Creek WMU.


ODFW is currently authorizing the lethal removal of wolves from the new Cathrine Creek WMU pack.
