Baker City, Ore – (Release from Oregon Department of Transportation) The Oregon Department of Transportation will be constructing intersection and ADA enhancements along U.S. 30 starting in 2024. To share information about the upcoming project, we are holding an in-person open house Feb. 23, 2023, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at the Oregon Trail Electric Cooperative office, located at 4005 23rd Street in Baker City. ODOT staff will be available to discuss project elements and answer questions. There will be no formal presentation, so anyone interested in learning more about the project is welcome to stop by at their convenience.

Project description

  • Intersection enhancements at U.S. 30 and Hughes Lane/Pocahontas Road will give trucks and other vehicles more room to turn safely.
  • Pedestrian improvements will be added along the west side of U.S. 30 to fill sections of missing sidewalks or replace those in poor condition. New curb ramps will be constructed to meet current ADA standards.
