OTEC to Hold 2022 Annual Meeting In-Person on May 21

Baker City, Oregon (OTEC) — After two years of virtual Annual Meetings, Oregon Trail Electric Cooperative (OTEC) is excited to announce it will hold an in-person Annual Meeting of the Membership on Saturday, May 21 at Baker High School, 2500 East St., Baker City.

Three positions on the OTEC Board of Directors are up for election. Election results for Position 7 (Union County), Position 8 (Union County) and Position 9 (Baker County) will be announced during the Annual Meeting. Board President Wayne Overton and Chief Executive Officer Les Penning will also report on the
state of your cooperative.

Candidates on the ballot are:
Position 7 – Union County
Candidates: Steve Lyon and Cory Miller
Position 8 – Union County
Candidates: David Baum– Incumbent and Dennis Myhrum
Position 9 – Baker County
Candidates: Charlene Chase – Incumbent

Beginning April 20, all OTEC member-owners should look for the formal notice of the meeting, election packets, and ballots in their mailboxes. Members will be automatically entered into a raffle for three $100 energy credits if they return their ballots by mail and are mailed before May 12. Every OTEC member-owner in all four districts is eligible and encouraged to vote.

All OTEC member-owners are invited to the in-person meeting, and there is no fee to attend. Doors will open at Baker High School at 8:30 a.m., with access to community booths and other activities. The business meeting begins at 10:30 a.m., followed by a complimentary lunch. There will be music, raffle drawings, activities and booths for all adults and children to enjoy.
