Quick Reaction minimizes damage in Baker City Fire

In the evening hours of March 16, 2022, Baker City Firefighters responded to a building fire this near 7th and Place. Upon arrival, crews were met with black smoke showing from a garage door. Firefighters were able to quickly suppress the flames.

Damage was minimized to vehicles and the structure however one vehicle sustained heavy damage.

In total, 6 Baker Firefighters, 2 command officers, and 1 mutual aid company were present for the incident. BFD would like to thank local law enforcement and public works employees for their timely response. Mutual aid was rendered by Baker Rural Fire District.

Quick reaction by a local resident and Baker Co 911 emergency dispatchers are said to have prevented the potential total loss of the structure.
