La Grande, Ore – According to the National Weather Service some of the coldest temperatures of the year are anticipated this weekend with Saturday being the coldest of the two days. More likely than not most places across the Lower Columbia Basin will be below 28 °F, elsewhere warmer temperatures will be found in central OR.
While record-breaking cold is not expected this weekend, those pursuing outdoor activities or travel plans will need to monitor and dress appropriately. Furthermore, wind chills are highly likely (80-90% chance) to bring temperatures down into the single digits above zero most places, mainly during the early morning.
Remember: Cold weather can be life-threatening. If you can’t avoid being outside, remember to follow these three steps and make sure to always tell someone where you’re going.
