Wallowa County Dispatch received a 911 call requesting medical assistance for a stabbing victim at Hells Canyon Overlook on Friday, July 8. Arriving Officers found Dan Ridling, age 64 of Hermiston, deceased in the parking area at Hells Canyon Overlook with a stab wound to his torso.
According to witnesses, Ridling was in a physical altercation with another male in the parking area.
The other male is cooperating with the investigation. The investigation is still in progress.
